Smooth, round pebbles are on the way out! HydroCorn is made up of popcorn-like clay pieces, each with an individual shape and size.

Their uneven texture gives them a larger surface area than spherical pebbles, meaning they’ll hold more nutrient solution.

Each pebble is between 8 and 16mm and is made from porous expanded clay. They are far more breathable than smooth ceramic pebbles and will improve air and water circulation in any growing medium.

Designed for drainage

Because of their uneven texture, these pebbles significantly improve drainage wherever they are. They create tiny gaps that let flow through freely.

HydroCorn makes soil-based substrates far lighter in texture and avoids waterlogging. Water won’t collect, go stagnant, or swamp the roots.

Facilitates healthy root system

Because of this free drainage and fresh environment, the root system remains healthy and can grow easily through the tiny gaps. Nutrients are easily available to the roots and they are less susceptible to diseases like pythium and root rot.

How to use Gold Label HydroCorn Clay Pebbles?

Always wash HydroCorn before use to remove as much clay dust as possible. It won’t harm your plants, but it can be messy and potentially damage water pumps.

The easiest way to wash the pebbles is to pierce the bottom of the bag and leave it under running water for 15-30 minutes.

HydroCorn is also super cost-effective as it’s reusable! Wash before each subsequent use with a substrate cleaner like Plagron Pure Zym.

Where to use Gold Label HydroCorn Clay Pebbles?

HydroCorn is a clean soilless medium and is perfect to use alone or mix with other substrates. Add to soil, coco, or other materials like perlite to improve drainage.

It can also be used as a pot topper to reduce water loss.

As its name suggests, HydroCorn improves root life in hydroponic systems. Be aware that, while the pebbles are very dense, they may float in very deep ebb and flow systems.
